CONTROVERSY continues regarding the £10.5m regeneration scheme for Pontypridd.

A series of Freedom of Information requests by RCT-based Welsh Liberal Democrats have uncovered that the council doesn't know how many businesses have set up in the area in the past 12 months.

With the Labour cabinet launching an economic development strategy, which is supposedly going to drive forward the economy agenda and bring new businesses and jobs to RCT, it is unbelievable that the council does not hold information about new businesses.

How will it measure the success of the strategy?

Even more concerning, further Freedom of Information requests show that only three firms have applied for funding from the Townscape Enhancement Programme (continues)
