The Labour Party have announced their Pontypridd candidate for the next Assembly election, two years before current AM Jane Davidson steps down.
He is Mick Antoniw, who lives in Newport and works in Cardiff for Thompsons solicitors (big Pontypridd connections there then). He was one of the candidates for selection for the Blaenau Gwent by election in 2006.
Labour leader of RCT Council Russell Roberts writing in the Ponty Observer stated that he was pleased to meet him when he was selected, which suggests he has not had a great deal of involvement with the constituency or the local Labour Party before.
Game on.
