New candidate seeks to keep Welsh Lib Dem flag flying in Treforest

RCT Welsh Liberal Democrats have selected Royston O'Reilly as their candidate for the May 3rd Council election. A Firefighter based in Treforest, Royston also owns local coffee shop Hoffi Coffi. He is a familiar face in Treforest and is looking forward to the challenge ahead. He takes over the reins from Councillor John Bell who has announced he will not seek re-election.

Royston says John will be a hard act to follow in Treforest, but he is very much looking forward to it.

"John is held in high regard by people in this area for the work he has put in as their Councillor, I want to build upon that good work and make sure that the people of Treforest are properly represented.

Treforest is a community with an unique set of problems and conflicting opinions. Traffic and parking problems, conflict between residents and the University, litter, anti social behaviour. These are just a few of the issues which Treforest residents are concerned about and which as a local businessman I am very familiar with.

I want to work with residents, Police, the Council, business to try and find solutions and make Treforest a community to be proud of. I look forward to the challenge ahead and welcome the opportunity to try and make some positive changes in the area."
