Putting Liberal Values into Action in WestminsterWalking away from a coalition and allowing a Tory minority government, a snap election and then a Tory majority government was not an option in 2010. A 'progressive' coalition where the electoral math didn't add up, with a Labour party who had no interest in one and who, let's not forget, had LOST the election, was not an option. We did not win the 2010 general election; and despite getting 23% of the popular vote we have only 9% of the total MPs in Westminster. In coalition, we have only 57 MPs to the Conservatives 306 - we are the junior partner and cannot do everything that we'd like to. Yet our colleagues in Westminster are making a difference and winning real victories on policy - such as; .
