We're worth it say Labour Councillors

October 14, 2011 12:45 AM

So this is what the Labour group voted in favour of last week - before they knew what the WLGA report said?

"Councillors across Wales have protested to the Welsh Government against proposals that would see their pay cut at nearly half the local authorities in the country,"

Well Councillors across Wales may have, but certainly not Welsh Liberal Democrat Councillors here in RCT.

The RCT Welsh Lib Dem response went off to the Independent Panel some weeks ago, before the Council meeting where Labour decided to try and sweep the issue under the carpet by not stating their opinion in public.

There is no justification for Russell Roberts, the highest paid Councillor in Wales also holding paid posts with the Health Board and the Police Authority.

When will the people of RCT see through their bluster and stop voting these peopel back in?
