Labour lame ducks swimming backwards over hospital changes.

June 5, 2013 11:49 PM

As pointed out by RCT Welsh Liberal Democrat Campaign Manager a few days ago the Labour party locally have been tying themselves up in knots over their comments on the Royal Glamorgan hospital

So keen were they to jump on the bandwagon and pretend to the electorate that their party had nothing to do with the hospital reorganisation that they forgot to co-ordinate efforts with their colleagues. They forgot that whilst they had a point to try and prove to their constituents, so did their colleagues elsewhere - such as the First Minister who wants to retain services at the Princess of Wales on his patch.

Within a couple of days the Labour4RoyalGlam website had undergone a revamp, because, as pointed out by Cllr Mike Powell, it wasn't quite true. Not all of Labour were in favour of keeping it. They took down their Labour4RoyalGlamorgan Facebook and twitter sites.

From there it was all downhill, and we can only imagine the conversations that have gone on behind closed doors with First Minister and leader of Welsh Labour, Carwyn Jones.

Mr Jones came in for a bit of heckling at First Minister's Questions. As reported by the BBC he was challenged to keep his own members in check after he alleged opposition members were spreading misinformation.

Today all incriminating evidence has been removed from the Labour campaign website. All the press releases referred to by the BBC have disappeared.

All is definitely not well in the Labour camp.
