Spotlight back on Talbot Green new town

July 14, 2013 12:09 AM

The Talbot Green new town proposal comes back under the spotlight this coming week at a special development control meeting.

The plans, which in our opinion should not go ahead and will have an adverse effect on existing town centres, were passed by RCT Council in February but the conditions laid down were such that the applicant has now come forward with revisions.

The development is in two phases, the first being the provision of a Sainsbury's store, the second the building of the new town with shops, cinemas, bars, restaurants and houses. The committee wanted all the road works associated with the second stage , which the applicant is paying towards, completed at stage one.

Not surprisingly the developer is not in agreement with this, and so the application will be considered again on 18th July.
