PAY MORE, GET LESS - Life under Labour in RCT.

January 25, 2014 9:30 AM

The Labour Cabinet have decided to put Council Tax up by 4.5% whilst at the same time making savage cuts to services in RCT.

Nursery education, libraries, youth provision, meals on wheels, Day Centres for the elderly, leisure centres, the Muni, bus services, all part of the planned cuts by the Labour Cabinet, and . with the promise of more still to come.

Those residents in areas with community councils will also have the added burden of whatever increase they decide upon. On top of this the Labour Police Commissioner for South Wales, Alun Michael, has announced a 5% increase in the Police precept - less than the 7% he called for.

Council Tax in RCT is already higher than in many local authorities. Last year the increase here was amongst the highest in Wales. Residents will be wondering just what they are getting for their money.
