Parents march against nursery cuts - again

March 8, 2015 12:04 PM

Yesterday camaigners once again took to the streets to protest against the Council's plans to cut nursery education in the County.

Having successfully taken Labour run RCT Council to court last year to prevent them carrying out plans to cut nursery education for three year olds from full to part time campaigners were furious when they started the whole process again. Following yet another consultation process in which the many views and carefully constructed arguments against it were ignored the Cabinet are determined to push ahead with their plans.

Campaigners are equally determined to stop them once again, and yesterday took to the streets of Pontypridd to publicise their fight and show the Council they have not given up.

Welsh Liberal Democrat Councillor Mike Powell and colleagues have been supportive of the campaign from the start believing that in an area with such a high level of deprivation and below average school results the earlier children can benefit from full time education the better.
