Age 16 -18? Register for a third off bus travel now.

August 19, 2015 5:08 PM

From September a Young Person's Concessionary Bus Fare scheme will be launched in Wales which will give 16 to 8 year olds a one third discount on all bus journeys, including the TrawsCymru network of longer-distance services.

The concessionary fares come about thanks to a deal made by the Welsh Liberal Democrats with the Welsh Labour Government whereby we agreed to allow their annual budget to pass in exchange for funding for a range of key policies. This included almost £15m for a concessionary bus fare scheme.

Around 8,671 young people in RCT will benefit, and approximately 110,000 across Wales.

16-18 year olds can register their interest for the new WYPDT Scheme Card via a Government website - Gov.wales/mytravelpass

Registering is easy - just leave your name and email address and you will receive an email telling you when the scheme starts and how you can get your pass.

This is open to all those in the age range whether working, in school / college or unemployed. It is not means tested. Make sure you sign up.
