Nicola Knight for Llantwit Fardre

March 16, 2017 9:30 AM

Nicola Knight will be the Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate for the Llantwit Fardre ward at the May council elections.

A resident of Llantwit Fardre for 18 years, Nicola is mother to three young children, runs her own freelance business and is studying for a PhD.

She is thrilled to have been chosen to stand for the Welsh Liberal Democrats and is determined to fight for a better deal for people in the area and across RCT.

"I was involved in the battle against the nursery cuts in RCT which affect my children as well as many others, and very disappointed when the Labour party in RCT went ahead with them regardless of public opinion and the evidence against them.

That was just one of the things that spurred me to get more involved with local politics and to want to do more for my community. I hope the people of Llantwit Fardre and Efail Isaf will trust me with their vote and give me the chance to show my commitment to them."

Welsh Liberal Democrat Councillor and Assembly candidate Mike Powell thinks Nicola would make an excellent County Councillor.

"My colleagues and I have built up a reputation for standing up for our communities and the residents of RCT. It is what drives us as Liberal Democrats - a desire to ensure fairness for all. Nicola is full of enthusiasm and a genuine desire to try and improve things in the area. I am pleased to welcome her aboard."
