Our Priorities for RCT

April 18, 2017 10:00 AM

Our priorities for RCT as we head into the Council elections on May 4th are as follows:

  • Protect schools from cuts and make sure more is spent on front line education not back room staff.
  • Cut spending on Council publicity and put more money into front line services.
  • Further cut senior management and stop paying excessive salaries and huge golden handshakes to retiring officers.
  • Bring empty properties back into use to help provide affordable housing.
  • Carry out an urgent review of social care which is not meeting demand.
  • Ensure proper regeneration of our town centres actually takes place.
  • Make sure a closer eye is kept on council spending and they are getting value for money on purchases.
  • Look to bring back full time nursery education.
  • Invest more in facilities for young people.
  • Consult with and listen to residents on decisions that affect them locally.
