Make your mind up time

Tomorrow Britain goes to the polls to elect the next Westminster government and an election weary public get to choose their representative for however long the next session lasts.

The media have from the start pushed this as a two horse race, May versus Corbyn, but really do you want either of those running the country unfettered by any other rational influence and scrutiny?

Yes you are electing a government but also you are electing an MP who will represent your interests and fight your corner, one who will go all out to ensure that we get our fair share of the spoils. At least you should be.

Here in RCT we have had Ann Clwyd in the Cynon, who lives in Cardiff, is by all accounts, rarely seen in her constituency and who was going to step down until she had an argument over who her successor should be. The moat we have heard from her recently is when she criticised her own Labour colleagues for their running of the NHS. Not because of years of suffering of her constituents nut because of her husband's treatment.

In the Rhondda Chris Bryant's claim to fame - apart from posing in his underpants online - is that he has apparently spoken more often in Parliament than any other Welsh MP. And what good has that done for the people of the Rhondda? Does it prove anything other than that he likes the sound of his own voice?

Then we come to Owen Smith, the Pontypridd MP who spent more time trying to overthrow his party leader than doing anything for the Pontypridd constituency. Here is a career politician who puts self before party before people.

So before you vote tomorrow ask yourself do you want more of the same? Are you going to be blackmailed by the press line - and theirs - of voting Labour to keep the Tories out? Or are you going to take a chance and vote for someone you know has been battling with you all the way to preserve services and provide a decent way of life for the people in RCT?

RCT Lib Dems stand on their record - opposing education cuts and hospital downgrading and the removal of services from our area. Tomorrow put people before party politics, because we do.
