RCT Cabinet discuss 3.3% Council Tax rise and increased fees for services.

February 10, 2018 10:30 AM

On Thursday the Labour Cabinet in RCT meet to discuss, amongst other things, their financial plans for the year ahead, which includes a proposed 3.3% increase in Council Tax.

Rhondda Cynon Taff Council Tax rates are already higher than many in Wales and residents may well be wondering what it is they are paying for.

On the same agenda there are proposals to put up fees for Council run services including meals on wheels, social care and school meals. They also plan considerable increases in burial fees from the current £519 to £700 this year and £800 next year.

As the old saying goes, few things are certain in this life except death and taxes, and this Labour Council are wringing all they can out of both.
