The mood is changing amongst leave voters.

August 12, 2018 2:37 PM

We are now seeing almost daily polls that indicate the mood in the country is changing as more and more leave voters are rethinking their choice.

In some instances it is because they realise they were conned - a leave campaign led by racists such as Farage, fat cat Tories who think only of themselves and their own pockets, and bumbling Boris who is interested only in his own career lied. They broke election law and overspent on a campaign to try and convince people that all the ills of the country could be solved by leaving the EU.

Then we have those such as John quoted in this Guardian article saying

"If I had the chance, I'd change my vote," he says. "There has been talk of a lot of job losses and I'm not happy with that. It's just a mess. I don't think they know what they are doing."

John obviously missed or ignored the warnings on this prior to the referendum. They were drowned out by the noise emanating from the "let's teach those politician s and experts a lesson" crowd - partly because of an appallingly poor remain campaign even from those of us, such as the Lib Dems, who are staunch believers in the EU.

People such as Rachel, who is also quoted stating that she probably 'wouldn't bother' to vote again.

"I think it was a wasted vote, 110%. If I knew that it was going to be like this, I probably wouldn't have turned up to vote...You understand it is going to take time, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere."

The article points out that she wanted 'to register a protest vote.' because

"Swansea is having a really hard time at the moment. If you walk around you just see boarded-up businesses and charity shops."

She is seemingly ignoring the fact that the EU has no responsibility for the running of Swansea Council, or the Welsh Government and by inference absolving them of any responsibility. Just who did leave voters think they were "giving back control" to?

Whatever the reason the mood is changing, and people are waking up to the fact that the cliff edge is looming ever closer and there is no barrier to stop us going right over. We have to stop Brexit.
