More fairness needed in RCT education system.

June 17, 2019 10:00 AM

Karen Roberts, our candidate for the Rhondda ward by election wants to see more fairness in our education system.

Under the current regime:

• whether or not three year olds get full or part time nursery education.

• whether pupils can carry on with sixth form education in the same school they have spent years in.

• whether Welsh Medium education is easily accessible without young pupils having to travel miles.

All depends on which area of RCT you happen to live in.

The Council leader is a Councillor in Mountain Ash, he objected to a 3 to 16 school there and it was stopped. Yet he thinks it good enough for pupils in Pontypridd and the Rhondda.

The Council stopped funding free full time nursery education for 3 year olds, yet some schools still offer it whilst others can't.

It is simply not fair. There seems to be no overall plan, or at least not one Labour ever told their voters.

Things need to change, But they won't unless you vote to make that happen
